This focus courses are for data processing and business professionals who will be using FOCUS.
We offer folowing courses:
- Getting Started presents general concepts and terminology essential to the new FOCUS user. This course also covers the optional TED and TOE facilities of FOCUS.
- Basic Report Preparation shows how to create tabular reports
- Report Preparation II shows how to produce more complex reports.
- Graphics shows how to create four types of graphs: bar charts, histograms, connected point plots and scatter diagrams.
- Data Manipulation for Reporting shows how to perform calculations and extended record selection on FOCUS fields when reporting.
- Accessing External Files describes how to access external files for use in FOCUS.
- File Definition describes the components of a Master File Description.
- File Maintenance I explains how to use the FOCUS MODIFY facility to maintain FOCUS files. It also gives practice in coding the statements that read and describe transactions.
- File Maintenance II explains how to use the FOCUS MODIFY facility to maintain FOCUS files. In particular, the course focuses on the COMPUTE, VALIDATE, TYPE and LOG statements. Case logic is also covered.
- Dialogue Manager and FIDEL covers two features of FOCUS that are useful to application developers. Dialogue Manager assists users in building and maintaining FOCEXECs. FIDEL enables users to design full-screen forms for data entry and application development.
- MAINTAIN Facility explains how to use the FOCUS MAINTAIN facility to maintain FOCUS files. It also describes commands to use when coding MAINTAIN procedures.
